LINKI actually think that's all pretty neat and is a great step toward much cheaper, safer and frequent trips to space. But I know many people think NASA is just a big hole the govt. throws money into and I can respect that. Still, you have to say that's some pretty nifty tech.

I believe these tests provided What we use in todays modern military aircraft and weapons over the last 40 or more years.I believe these tests to be very tax worthy. Imagine flying a bomber out of Missouri at 6 am and bombing say North Korea, and be back for lunch. They wouldnt know what hit them.

No, NASA is a good thing. What irritates me is these people saying that money might as well be shot off into space or something stupid like that. Where do they think that money goes? How about jobs? Jobs at NASA and all of the contractors and all of the products that are used. And that's to say nothing of the research benefits.

I agree with you, but their next arguement would be that very little of the space technology has found it's way into regular human hands. ....but damn it....I can't remeber all the good arguements I heard/read many moons ago. But they weren't good enough to change my mind. I think NASA should be funded more than it is now. It's actually a VERY small chunk of the US budget. At least compared to what it was in 60's and eary 70's. But then again we had Presidents with balls then too who would say s**t like "before the decade is out we will be on the moon"....wait...didn't Bush saying something simalor about Mars a couple of years ago?

At least most of what NASA does is cool and interesting. And, as Timberwolf pointed out, it does generate a lot of employment. Compared to a lot of other government waste, (helium subsidy, for example) I think NASA is worthy. Also, aside from the military possibilities, space exploration is important- there's resources out there we may be able to harness. And we done run out of stuff to explore here on earth, just about. Exploration and discovery is what makes humanity better than, say, moss.Plus it's how I got to 3rd base the first time.

Well, I had one of those space shuttle models, and I told her I was interested in exploring black holes....... (This is gonna de-evolve into jokes about Uranus real fast. I'm outta here)

No, YOU'RE not slow, but SHE was pretty dumb!(Dumb enough to fall for the old "wanna come over and look at my model collection" line anyway)
