Can anyone tell me where I can get photoshop 7 at a decent price. I had let's say not an on the up and up copy a few months ago but when I wiped my harddrive I lost it. Only problem with my copy was I couldn't get any of the plugins to work with it. I want a legit copy now.

Saggin I've seen it all over the internet at different prices....Also I downloaded a free program lastnight called "The Gimp" of all things. Have only had a few minutes to work with it, but it seems to have some pretty cool features. But then again, I'm not that up to speed on some of the graphic mod programs...
Have a look..........http://www.gimp.org/
What size should the image be, to be used as a sig?.
pixel x pixel.... etc..........

Yeah I found a copy on the internet that was new for 60 bucks but there is no documentation with it. They also where selling the newest version of Photoshop for 90 bucks but again with no documentation. I will try out that Gimp tonight.

hey Saggin, I obtained my copy <cough>illegally<cough>. That is through Kazaa bak in the day when I was a punk kid with no respect for much of anything. It came with a CD key, which can unlock as many copies as you want, as long as it doesnt register online, then you face trouble. Other than that, bud, you can get a copy all over the net for varying prices, but if you see Photoshop 7 at a price of 200 bucks, my advice is GRAB IT!! I know I would FireDevil, I set my sig sizes in pixel width of 400 and pixel height of 100. You can go smaller, bt through experience I found sigs exceeding those size parameters are not very practical. Save files as JPEG and it saves quality and maintains a fairly small size of the file making it easier to upload it even for 56k modem users.

Thanks for the input, that is what I needed to know. I wanted to give this a go myself, before I asked someone else to do it for me. Something I've always wanted to learn.................

Ok this is the place I found the 60 buck copy of photoshop 7.0 and photoshop cs priori.bestwinsoft.biz/ there are no books with it just a cd and as far as I can tell the product is completely legit. The thing is if I can get cs for that price would it be better to buy that and get a book on how to use it instead of getting photoshop 7.0

Saggin, site does look legit and soft is really cheap. But you only need the cd-key, packaging is not a must, as long as its all sealed and cd-key is safe. you can pick up a manual book for about 50-70 bucks off Adobe website directly, so in any case it all beats the hell out of $500+, since you are only gonna spend not even 200. As for CS vs. 7.0, its certainly better to get CS instead of 7.0. but I find 7.0 easy to use and its versatile with plug-ins and such. 7.0 is the best choice for a novice in my opnion, and CS tends to be directed more at pros, but hey, bud, if you plan getting into it, might as well get CS.
