BEWARE-----An update has been released for JO:TR.......
Rifleman no longer can carry a AT4/RPG. That went to the Engineer Class.
Those of you whom liked to snipe in Nova server can kiss that goodbye as well. The Sniper class has been totally hosed. Will have to download the update to TR to see if they made other changes.
In the NovaWorld forum people are complaining already.

MORE INFO..................
Here is an excerpt of the new update for JO;
Pretty crazy update:
No zoom on sniper rifles. Apcs are longer in size, not sure about Strykers No AT4 or RPG for rifleman, only engineers have them now. Global chat, which seems to be just like old regular chat. Local chat which seems somewhat pointless, other than being white. New PSP icons specific to each team. Removed special aiming sites for grenade launcher on AK47 (maybe other weapons too, haven't checked). Bullets drop much more drastically and quicker in APC. Various updates and additional filter options to Novaworld interface/server finder. Third person perspective has been removed. Riflemen can use demo charges. Also be aware all your options settings will be reset to default upon update.
Other things that may or may not be changed that I and other people seemed to notice:
Grenades from grenade launcher seem more powerful. Trees and other objects seem more solid to vehicles. Someone said they noticed a period of slowed movement after getting out of water now.

Whooo- Hooo, wanna see some angry, bitter, posting, head on over to the Nova Joint ops forum! 13 pages of screeching, tearing my hair out, rolling around and beating my little fists on the ground, whining! I'm kinda bummed I can't carry an AT-4 AND a 203 at the same time, now, and if I was a sniper, I'd miss the variable power scope, but wow..... it's actually pretty funny, the depth of outrage in some of these threads is profound.

Worst thing is that if you have an M-4, the laser sight is on and the enemy can put on their night vision and see the laser beam. We're calling it the "flashlight". You can't turn it off, either (at least we haven't found how).

OOO- hadn't found that yet......I really prefer the m-4 to the 16, too.

i could live with all the changes if it weren't for all the new BUGS & Glitches....... these glitches have made it, for me, totally unplayable. i knew of only a few prior to the patch, now i know of at least 10 or more.........posted in the JO Tech forum. tonite was the 1st nite, i logged in, played for 5 minutes then quit.........wasn't even interested in trying to wade thru the bugs to get to the action....... maybe it's a good thing though, now i can find something else to do for a while until they fix it..... the Bugs & Glitches: www.novaworld.com/NWCommunities/topic.aspx?topic_ID=925517721

Pays to play as a Rebel these days. LOL The laser on the M-4 is funny as hell. I thought the snipers had it bad with the smoke they kick up now. Played quite a bit this weekend in different servers. Sure there were some changes but nothing really dramatic. Noticed my FPS was down alittle, but not too bad. Hopefully Nova will listen to some of the complaints that are being posted by the players.

I haven't had any problems. But I'm not so stuck in my ways that I can't make the best of a not that bad situation.

Very true DeadoMan after playing over the weekend. I didn't see too many things that couldn't be overcome. Since we don't do sniper class there is no issue there. Did play as a sniper in other servers to test it out. The only issue I really had was the smoke that is now emitted when you shoot. The fixed scope isn't a major impact. Though it would be nice to have 10x and 16x. The final test of things will be when Escalation comes out. Those comments I will have to save until the release.

Yeah, I haven't had any issues with it so far. I kind of miss my AT-4, but I've been having loads of fun with the satchels- set a few in an enemy base in an AAS server last night, waited outside the zone for a couple minutes untill there were 10 or so enemy in there, and WHOOOOOOOOM! 8 kills! THAT was fun!

THAT was fun! Sweet. Satchels can be tons of fun. Try them with an MP5 in a tracers on server, you can be real sneaky. I've noticed the people that never leave these servers have a hard time finding me. Anyway, try this sometime, get a ride on a chopper and have the pilot do a fly by of the base and chuck your satchels out the window as you fly over. I've never actually done it, but I've seen it done. Very effective.

I read about that trick when JO was first out, and tried it a few times, never could get any kills that way, though. I should try it again.
