JOINT OPS: ESCALATION Tanks & Apaches & Dirt bikes.. Oh my! Calabasas, Ca (September 16th, 2004) – November 16th 2004 should be marked on the calendar of all Joint Ops fans, as that date sees the release of Joint Ops: Escalation, the first expansion pack for the Number 1 Selling, world record breaking, large scale FPS. The conflict in Indonesia has spilled over to other parts of Asia where rebel troops have gained support in the war against the newly reinforced Joint Ops forces. Set against a backdrop of South East Asia that includes Airports, Radar Tracking Stations and Rocket launch facilities, players enlist once more to take part in intense large scale modern FPS combat, in games of up to 150 players online. As the battles shift to different locations, new vehicles enter the fray: Attack Choppers and Battle Tanks make their debut, along with Mobile SAM Launchers and Dirt Bikes. Players will also be able to make airborne insertions into hot zones via Parachute. Joint Ops: Escalation will also feature: Ceramic Body Armor. Optional 3rd Person weapon view for select vehicles. New emplaced weaponry for enhanced base defense. Over 25 new maps, including new Co-Op and Training missions. Joint Ops: Escalation ships in November on PC CD ROM. So what do you all think of this? I'm kind of excited, battle tanks, dirt bikes, apaches and all sound pretty cool to me. All the little girls in the NOVA forums are up in arms , whining about stats, and threatening to, well, whine more if NOVA doesn't "fix the MAJOR flaws with the existing game", and writing their congressmen, etc. I wasn't really aware of any major flaws, thought JO was a pretty good game, but I've only been playing for a year now.Just wondering what you all thought.

The tanks and bikes would be kinda cool. All these guys are worried about stats vs playing the game and having fun. In BHD it was all about stats and alot of those people got banned for using trainers, mods. etc. Why play the game if you need to cheat....Nova has been doing a pretty good job. Just wish they would work on the frame issues. Everytime a new update comes out, I lag worse than the time before. When the game first came out I ran smooth as silk.

I can see some pretty cool possibilities. And screw the stat wh0res. I've been playing the games since DF2 and I think my stats show me being online an hour and a half! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Ya think I never play on NovaWorld's servers? LOL!

Stats? We don't need no stinking stats LOL. I have been playing since df1 and still use the same login for nova that I set up for that way back when a 466 celeron was considered a monster machine LOL. All I want is G3 with a grenade launcher. I will keep the beta test version of JO updated and keep up with that and see what they have instore for us they said the beta testers will be testing any expansion packs that are to be put out so I will keep everyone informed as well as I can.

I confess to being a bit of a stat prostitute myself. You see, when I first started playing BHD a year ago, i don't know how to say it, but I guess it didn't occur to me NOT to try for stats; all the other players talked about them constantly, and so I just figured that was what the game was all about. It was kind of inspirational to me when I "met" Timberwolf, and figured out that the 7.62 server wasn't just for practicing in order to rack up stats, which is what a lot of other squads do. Then, with the advent of JO, I realized that just playing the game in order to have fun was, well, a lot of fun!

Oh, none taken! I was pointing out the fact that it really is a lot more fun to play as you all do, for the love of the game, so to speak.
