I didn't like it either before 9-11, but now I enjoy going, to support the economy of the city. Don't go as often as I'd like though. Love the pizza in the little hole in the wall shops. People even seemed a little nicer (little being the operative word).
Don't know if I'd go if I couldn't carry a pistol though. I usually carry a GLOCK or my Kimber just for peace of mind!!

I'm back. Had a blast. Great place to visit, but I couldn't live there. I was really moved by the experience of going to ground zero. I don't know what I thought it would be like, but I really recomend going, to anyone who happens to find themselves in the neighborhood. I'm still a little groggy from the flight, plus, last night, there was some kind of NYC garbageman "Rodeo and noise competition" outside our bedroom window.

LOL! I've heard about the garbagemen rodeos.
That's the way to see someplace like that, with someone who lives there. We did the same when my wife's sister was living in Chicago and we were in D.C. We drove over (Ohio is booooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrring!) and went to the air show. She had a condo a block off the beach so we had good seats from her rooftop.
