Here is one cool thing about the Internet. I hate to use the term “world village” but . . . .
Looking at the stats and info for the 7.62 web site, there is a category for countries from which someone has accessed the site. We get most of the hits from the U.S., Canada, and Europe, a lot of hits from military locations (including CENTCOM in Iraq), and have received hits from a huge number of countries all over the world. But there was a name that stopped me: Niue. Hit 16 pages.
Huh?
I’m pretty good in geography, but . . . huh?
Turns out that Niue is an island in the South Pacific, east of Tonga (if that tells you anything) a “self-governing parliamentary government in free association with New Zealand”. It is about 4,500 mile SSW of Hawaii, 1,500 miles from New Zealand, and 1,100 miles from Tahiti.
It is approximately 156 square miles, or about 1.5 times the size of Washington, D.C., but without the moron crackhead mayor, so they are obviously more intelligent than the residents of D.C. It is one of the world’s largest coral islands and there are steep limestone cliffs along the coast. It has about 50 miles of paved roads. Population is only about 1,800.
And one of them hit our website. Weird, huh? [This is where we all hold hands and sing “Cum-Ba-Yah”. Yeah. Right. Bite me. Hard.] Anyway, if that person sees this, drop me an e-mail – timberwolf_762@bloodysteel.com I’ll be willing to put up a page on Niue if you want to send me some photos and text.
