It's only 1.39 most places here. Of course that is in Euro, and by the litre as well.

In 1976, I drove a 1972 Plymouth 'Cuda with a 340 cubic inch engine. It took one tank of gas to get me to high school and work during the week, and then one tank of gas Friday night and one tank of gas Saturday night to hit all of the high spots and street race. Since I was paying up to $1.59 a gallon, I decided to look at what that equates to in current dollars and -- www.westegg.com/inflation/infl.cgiWhat cost $1.59 in 1976 would cost $5.73 in 2007. So, since gas is currently $3.75, it's a bargain, comparatively speaking. So I'm good.
